Concerts at St James’s presents musical performances of the highest caliber for the refreshment and enrichment of the Greater Hartford community. Highlights of recent seasons include performances by the Vienna Boys Choir, violinist Colin Jacobsen, concert organist Greg Zelek, cellist Owen Young, and pianist Alan Murchie. The generous acoustic of the sanctuary, a Steinway A grand piano that has been called “the new best piano in town,” and a newly re-built and re-voiced three-manual 1962/2018 Austin Organ make St James’s an in-demand performance space for local, regional, and international artists. Annual concerts by the combined choirs of St James’s Episcopal Church have included major works of Mendelssohn, Brahms, Duruflé, Poulenc, and Fauré, with musicians of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
Concerts at St. James's has several exciting events lined up for the 2019-2020 season. The highlight of the season will be a special appearance by VOCES8, one of the world's best vocal ensembles.
